Eugin Clinic takes part in the fourth Ovarian Club International Congress, held in Paris

Last weekend, Paris hosted the fourth Ovarian Club International Congress. Eugin attended the event, which is an annual gathering of international experts on assisted reproductive who are there to share the latest findings and papers on ovarian function in women.

Eugin Clinic was represented at the meeting by Dr. Albert Obradors, the fertility centre’s laboratory director. During the second day of the congress, Dr. Obradors presented the paper entitled, DNA damage assessment in cumulus cells by a novel chromatin dispersion assay, developed by the Eugin Clinic research team in collaboration with a working group from the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Improving the chances of pregnancy

In the study presented, the procedures for analysing the cells accompanying an egg were described in detail. The aim of this analysis is to obtain the utmost possible information from the egg in order to be able to predict whether, within an IVF cycle, it will be able to be fertilised and thus give rise to a pregnancy.

By means of this information, the aim is to improve the ability to choose the eggs in order to increase the patients’ likelihood of getting pregnant.
